Event Notes

Settler attacks on Huwarah (Masafer Yatta)

On May 24, 2025: According to Masafering: "Last night settlers invaded agricultural land called Huwara, near the village of Al-Deirat, located east of Yatta. They cut down more than 100 olive trees, destroyed many agricultural fences, broke the cover of a water cistern, and fled. The extensive damage to the olive trees and fences comes at a time when Shimon Atiya and youths from his outpost invade these vineyards on a daily basis with their flocks."

On Augustus 19, 2025: A new settler outpost was established in Hawara, near Dirat, on private Palestinian land with open support from the occupation authorities. Shimon Atiya brought furniture, water tanks, and other equipment to the site. Issachar Man and employees of the Mount Hebron Council also participated in the construction. Settlers drilled holes in the fence of a nearby Palestinian house and placed Israeli flags. Residents fear the outpost will block access to their farmland and that Atiya and his group will terrorize them in their homes.
