Day 852 in Gaza (Ceasefire violations)

On February 4, 2026, Israeli forces carried out a series of air and artillery attacks on multiple locations in Gaza, including Gaza City, Khan Younis, Deir al-Balah and other areas of the strip. Health officials in Gaza reported that at least 20–24 Palestinians were killed, including including tree babie among 6 children, women, including a femal doctor, and a paramedic, with dozens more wounded.

The Israeli military said it had fired on Gaza after a gunman shot at Israeli soldiers and seriously wounded an officer. According to the IDF, troops of the Alexandroni Brigade came under fire from multiple gunmen during operations on the Israeli side of the Yellow Line, which splits the Strip between areas controlled by Israel and Hamas. In response, tanks opened fire, and airstrikes were carried out in the area, in eastern Gaza City.

Gaza City:

Saqr Hammad Al-Khabbaz, his wife Farah Hamadeh, and her mother Asma Hamadeh, along with their infant daughter Wateen (5 days old), and his niece, the little girl Mira Raad Hammad Al-Khabbaz (5 months old), were killed in an Israeli strike that targeted tents of displaced persons in the al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City. The baby’s name was Mira al-Khabbaz.The shrapnel tore a gaping hole in Watin’s head. Watin was killed alongside her father, mother, grandmother, and her five-month-old cousin.

A female doctor, Dr. Intisar Shamlakh, from the Shamlakh family in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood,was shot dead by the Isreli forces, who targeted Shawa Square in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood late on Tuesday night. This was accompanied by violent artillery shelling and heavy heavy machine gun fire targeting the outskirts of the Shujaiya and Al-Tuffah neighborhoods, east of the city. The outskirts of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, located within what is known as the Yellow Line”, were also subjected to similar targeting. One of the attacks led to fire in citizens' homes east of the city.

Israeli forces killed three civilians, including a child, in artillery shelling that targeted tents sheltering displaced people on Yaffa Street, in al-Mahatta Park, in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood. Al-Shifa Hospital received the bodies of two women and a young girl.

Haboush family were massacred, including two children, and the martyrs were: Rital (13 years old), Youssef (40 years old), Ahmed (22 years old), and Bilal (16 years old), as a result of artillery shelling that targeted a residential building in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood, which resulted in Also, a number of injuries occurred at the scene. Four martyrs from the Haboush family in the Al-Tuffah neighborhood due to intense artillery shelling. In another attack on the neighborhood, four citizens were massacred as a result of violent Israeli bombing.

Israeli forces killed 3 Palestinians in an artillery strike east of the Al-Zaytoun neighborhood, southeast of Gaza City, on Street 10; including a five-month-old baby. They are from the Salmi, Al-Hutto, and Ayad families. The martyrs were: Ali Salmi (60 years old), Basina Muhammad Ayyad (55 years old), and the child Saqr Al-Hato (5 months old)

Red Crescent Society paramedic Hussein Al-Sumairi was also martyred, along with two citizens, while others were injured, as a result of an Israeli targeting of Street No. 5 in the city. The Red Crescent Society said that Al-Sumairi rose while performing his humanitarian work.

Southern Gaza:

Israeli forces killed two civilians in an artillery strike on tents housing displaced people in Qizan Rashwan, south of Khan Younis, in the southern Gaza Strip.

In another massacre, three martyrs were killed: Mahmoud Al-Ras (21 years old), Suleiman Abu Sitta (28 years old), and his child Farid (12 years old), as a result of an air strike that targeted a tent housing displaced people in the Mawasi area of the city of Khan Yunis, south of the Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Red Crescent Society reported that two people, including a paramedic, were killed and twelve others were injured in shelling that struck the area around Street 5 in the al-Mawasi area of Khan Younis, in southern Gaza. The injured were transferred to the Red Crescent field hospital in al-Mawasi. Medical sources later clarified that the toll subsequently rose to three dead. According to local sources, the victims were reported after an Israeli helicopter struck a tent housing displaced persons in al-Mawasi. While ambulance teams were attempting to evacuate the wounded, an Israeli drone reportedly targeted the rescue team.

Nasser Hospital received the body of the martyred child Eyad Ahmed Naeem Al-Rubaiaa (3 years old), who was killed when Israeli warboats shelled the tents of displaced persons in the Al-Iqlimi area, south of Mawasi, Khan Yunis.
