Translation of the IDF ONLINE statement:

"In response to the violation of the ceasefire agreement yesterday: the IDF struck infrastructure belonging to the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip.

Over the past 24 hours, the IDF attacked infrastructure of the Hamas terrorist organization in the Gaza Strip, in response to a breach of the agreement following gunfire by militants yesterday toward IDF forces in the northern Gaza Strip.

As part of the strikes, the IDF targeted a site used by the Hamas terrorist organization for the production of weapons, as well as a weapons storage facility belonging to the organization.

The strikes were carried out after measures were taken to distance the civilian population from the strike areas through advance warnings to the population. The strikes were conducted after it was determined that no uninvolved civilians were present in the vicinity of the targeted terrorist infrastructure.

The IDF views any violation of the ceasefire agreement with great severity and will act against any attempt by terrorist organizations in the Gaza Strip to carry out terrorist attacks against IDF forces and the State of Israel."

Israeli airstrike on a building, reportedly belonging to the Abu Hatab family, geolocated between Bilal and Omar Ibn al-Khattab Mosque in Khan Younis

Event Notes

Day 854 in Gaza (Ceasefire violations)

Since the night, IDF began a campaign of massive destruction of remaining buildings by targeting them with airstrikes.

Gaza’s Health Ministry reported 2 killed and 25 injured arriving at hospitals.

Southern Gaza:

At around 1:00 a.m. local time, an Israeli airstrike hit a building reportedly belonging to the Abu Hatab family, geolocated between Bilal Mosque and Omar Ibn al-Khattab Mosque in Khan Younis (31.345550, 34.296777). No one was injured in the attack.

Five Palestinians were injured after Israeli tanks opened fire on displaced persons’ tents in the Al-Maslakh and Al-Barraq Al-Janoubi areas, south of Khan Younis in the southern Gaza Strip. This occurred during Israeli ground movements east of Khan Younis; the wounded were transferred to Nasser Hospital, with injuries described as moderate.

Gaza City:

In Al-Zaytun neighborhood, east of Gaza City, a massive missile strike completely destroyed an entire residential building in a densely populated civilian area. Weapons analyst Trevor Ball (@Easybakeovensz) identified the weapon as an MK-84 2,000-pound bomb fitted with a JDAM kit. He noted that Bellingcat recently questioned the IDF over evacuation distances in Gaza, which are significantly shorter than those included in notices in Lebanon. In this case, residents were instructed to evacuate 100 meters, while 500 meters is typically cited in Lebanon and exceeds several safety standards for a 2,000-lb bomb, including U.S. Marine Corps “danger close” guidelines.

Anadolu Agency reported that the targeted building was completely destroyed and that adjacent homes suffered blast damage, with residents stating that surrounding buildings were not included in the evacuation order.

Northern Gaza:

In Beit Lahia, northern Gaza, an Israeli strike killed a Palestinian civilian identified as Nabil Muhammad Ahmad al-Rahal (54), according to reporting citing WAFA, despite the ceasefire being in effect.

Evacuation order (released February 6, 2026 – approx. 1:51 p.m.):

English translation of the @AvichayAdraee evacuation order:

Urgent ‼️ Immediate warning to residents of the Al-Zaytun neighborhood, specifically at the intersection of Umm al-Moun Street and Al-Muʿamadani Al-Bariyya Street, in the building marked in red and those in its vicinity.

⭕️ The Israel Defense Forces will attack the building in the near timeframe due to the presence of Hamas terrorist infrastructure inside it or nearby.

⭕️ For your safety, you are required to evacuate the building immediately and move at least 100 meters away.

IMEMC reported that the strike on the building occurred after the evacuation order was issued, and that the structure was destroyed shortly afterward.
