"From wheelchairs to walking. From paralysis to sitting up. The physiotherapists and specialists in our Refaat Alareer Camp Medical Point are quite literally performing miracles. https://chuffed.org/project/113327-refaat-alareer-camp-the-sameer-project These patients, who are residents in our medical camp, were in airstrikes, shot, buried under rubble. They suffer from congenital disorders and chronic diseases. And with Gaza’s healthcare system in near collapse due to the occupation, none of them were getting the treatment they deserve to rehabilitate and recover, or to manage their conditions for a dignified life. We recently expanded our physiotherapy tent at the Refaat Alareer Camp. Here we serve patients from the Refaat Camp and the Batool Camp. We added a set of therapy stairs, exercise bars, and even flooring to practice walking on. Patients are building strength, building confidence, and finally have hope. Those who were bedridden, told they would never be mobile again, are now walking in and out of our tent for their physiotherapy sessions.
