"Israeli occupation forces raid Palestinian women's and prisoners' rights groups in Ramallah —— Israeli occupation forces raided the offices of Palestinian civil society organizations in Ramallah, including the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees and Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, as well as the courtyard of Ramallah Governmental Hospital. According to WAFA, the raids targeted organizations documenting violations against Palestinians and supporting prisoners held in Israeli detention, amid Israel’s ongoing campaign against Palestinian civil society across the occupied West Bank. The latest raids add to Israel’s escalating restrictions on Palestinian human rights organizations, many of which have faced closure orders, military raids and accusations of 'unlawful' activity." - Source

Raid on Ramallah targeting Human rights NGO's

On October 13, 2026, Israeli forces raided two Palestinian NGOs and the courtyard of the Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah.

Isralei forces searched the Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees and Addameer Prisoner Support and Human Rights Association, confiscating equipment from Addameer.

Israeli snipers were deployed at the entrances to the Palestine Medical Complex, the West Bank’s largest government hospital.

Israeli forces fired stun grenades at journalists covering the raid. A journalist was injured by tear gas.

Casualties

The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that a child was injured by live ammunition and several people suffered suffocation during raids in Ramallah and Al-Bireh.

Background:

In 2021, Israel designated both NGOs, alongside four other Palestinian organisations, as “terrorist” organisations, alleging links to the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine (PFLP). Addameer, founded in 1991, provides legal aid to Palestinian prisoners and advocates for their rights. The Union of Palestinian Women’s Committees, founded in 1980, works to empower Palestinian women and opposes the Israeli occupation.
