On April 15, 2026, Israel carried out a “Quadruple tap,” killing four medical workers and wounding six, in Mayfadoun, outside of Nabatieh, Southern Lebanon. Paramedics were trying to rescue wounded from an initial airstrike, when they were struck. Followed by three additional strikes targeting rescuers and ambulances. Another ambulance came to rescue the medical workers and was struck. A third rescue attempt was made, and that ambulance was struck too. A paramedic remains missing. A strike targets Mayfadoun, and an Islamic Health Committee ambulance responds—only to be directly hit. Al-Risala Scouts rush to assist but are met with artillery fire and become trapped. A second Health Committee vehicle attempts to aid the situation but is targeted again. Nabatieh EMS tries to carry out a rescue but is struck by artillery. Lebanese Civil Defense arrives but comes under shelling. An ambulance team from the Islamic Health Authority was targeted while attempting to rescue wounded individuals, resulting in the martyrdom of one paramedic, while the second paramedic remains missing. When a second ambulance from the Islamic Health Authority headed to rescue the paramedics, it was also targeted, wounding three paramedics. In a third rescue attempt, two ambulances from the Risala Association and Nabatieh Ambulance headed to the scene and were targeted as well, resulting in the martyrdom of two paramedics and the wounding of three others. The Ministry of Public Health strongly condemns this heinous crime, which reflects the israeli enemy’s insistence on preventing paramedics from performing their life-saving duties in any way, to the extent that they have become direct targets pursued relentlessly by the enemy. On the evening of April 4, 2026, a gang of settlers attacked the Tuba area in Masafer, the town of Yatta, and assaulted citizens, which led to a young man suffocating as a result of pepper gas being sprayed in his face, and the child Awad Khalil Awad (5 years old) was injured and bruised in the head as a result of being pushed by settlers on the ground. Anti-settlement activist Osama Makhamreh testified that colonists stormed the village, attacking residents and using pepper spray at close range, which caused a young man to suffer suffocation symptoms. He added that a five-year-old child, Awad Khalil Awad, sustained head injuries and bruises after being pushed to the ground during the assault. Both were treated on site. The group also stole a number of livestock belonging to the resident Omar Mohammed Abu Jundiya. They also attacked farmers in the Ashkareh area south of the nearby town of Yatta, chasing them. At 15:10, Israeli forces raided the Ashkara area, fired stun grenades and tear gas towards citizens and homes, while they were trying to confront the settlers. Then, Israeli soldiers detained two Palestinian residents after assaulting them, breaking their phones, and confiscating their devices, while another resident also had his phone destroyed during the incident. The two detainees in the Ashkara area, south of the town of Yatta, are: Munther Mahmoud Abu Qubaita and Hammad Jabr Al-Nawajaa.
