Clashes erupted when Israeli settlers tried to set fire to crop and houses and attacked the town. US-Palestinian residents defended themselves with rocks. One Palestinian was wounded. An Israeli settler driver blocked an ambulance from reaching the Palestinians. **On June 24, 2025** On the morning, Israeli settler militias uprooted scores of olive trees on the outskirts of the town. **On Monday evening, January 6, 2025**, Israeli settlers set ablaze property across the occupied West Bank in the latest rampage against Palestinian towns and villages. A farmhouse was burned. They set fire an agricultural room belonging to one of the residents in the town of Turmus Ayya, north of Ramallah. A lot of attacks and raids have taken place in the Qalqilya area, with pogroms in several villages. On January 6, 2025, Israeli settlers called on the public to join a pogrom in the village of Funduq, Qalqilya, in the West Bank. Their invitation reads: "Erase Funduq now". They wrecked havoc on multiple West Bank villages, including Hajjah & Funduq near Qalqilya; burning & attacking homes & vehicles *"Erase Funduq now" "There are no uninvolved! Kill or expel all of them! Everyone's going out today to protest the spilt Jewish blood, and demand: ERASE FUNDUQ NOW! THE PEOPLE OF ISRAEL WANT REVENGE!"*  This is from "Hilltop News", the Hilltop Youth's news channel. This follows explicit incitement the same day by Israel's Finance minister Smotrich to annihilate Jenin, Nablus & Funduq. Sooner in the day, two Palestinian assaulted a settler bus in Funduq, killing 2 and injured 10. One of those killed in the shooting near Qalqilya is Yaakov Finkelstein, an investigator at the Israeli military station in Ariel settlement. Palestinian sources confirm that he was involved in the brutal torture of Palestinian children. Then Israeli forces closed the main street near Al-Funduq & Jinsafut, east Qalqilya, around the site of the shooting attack. On January 7, 2025, Israeli soldiers launched a large-scale raid campaign in the villages around Qalqilya and more broadly across the entire West Bank. **In Askar RC** On Sunday January 5, 2025, in the evening, Israeli forces raided the vicinity of Askar refugee camp, east of Nablus in the northern occupied West Bank. Three Israeli military vehicles entered the eastern part of Nablus city from the Alon Moreh settlement on January 5 at 7:20 p.m., moving toward the main street near the New Askar refugee camp. Israeli soldiers disembarked from the vehicles and started firing indiscriminately at Palestinians in the area. They invaded too the Askar and New Askar refugee camps, east of the city, while breaking into and ransacking many citizens’ homes. They fired live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters. They killed with live bullets a Palestinian teenager, **Moataz Ahmad Abdel Wahab Madani**, 16. According to the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) he was critically wounded, transported to the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus, where he succumbed to his wounds. According to Defense for Children International - Palestine, he was shot by Israeli forces around 7:25 p.m. near Tal Askar area in the New Askar refugee camp. Motaz sustained two gunshot wounds in the chest from a distance of about 70 to 100 meters (230 to 328 feet) away. Israeli military vehicles approached and parked next to Motaz, who was lying on the ground and bleeding severely, and prevented a Palestinian ambulance from reaching him. After 20 minutes, the ambulance was able to reach him and he was transferred to Rafidia Governmental Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:15 p.m. after attempts at cardiopulmonary resuscitation. Motaz is the first Palestinian child shot and killed by Israeli forces in 2025, according to documentation collected by DCIP. **In Nablus, “Khalet al-Amoud” area** On Sunday January 5, 2025, in the afternoon, the Israeli forces stormed the “Khalet al-Amoud” area in the eastern a part of Nablus city, and opened fire with live rounds, concussion grenades, and tear gas canisters. Meanwhile, the Health Ministry confirmed that Israeli forces shot two Palestinian young men, who were transported to the Rafidia Hospital in Nablus after sustaining live gunshot wounds to their lower limbs. **In Nablus, Old City** On Sunday January 5, 2025, at dawn, a large Israeli army force stormed Nablus city from several directions and deployed soldiers in the Old City. They shot four Palestinian young men. The PRCS reported that its ambulance crews transported them to the hospital after sustaining live gunshot wounds, including one in the abdomen and another in the hand. **Village of Burin & Sebastia** Israeli forces stormed the village of Burin and the town of Sebastia in the Nablus governorate, on Sunday afternoon.
